WINTER SAFETY TIPS

#1 - Check Belts and Hoses
Problems with belts and hoses can mean big trouble. On most engines the serpentine belt turns the water pump, alternator, power steering, and air conditioning compressor. A blown hose could cause an overheated engine, and possibly long term engine damage. A blown belt or hose greatly increses your chances of finding yourself stranded in the cold.

#2 - Check Tires
The tread depth, alignment, pressure, and overall condition of your tires can greatly impact stoping distance, traction, fuel mileage, and ride quality. Checking your tires is an important part of routine vehicle maintenance.

#3 - Get A Tune Up
Get a complete tune up to keep your engine starting and running smooth. Fuel filters are important to keep from having freeze ups in these cold winter months.

#4 - Check Brakes And Brake Fluid
Your brakes are important to insure smooth stopping. ABS brakes are great for icy roads, but with out sufficient brake pad material they lose thier ability to perform. Brake fluid flush is recomdended on most vehicles every three years.

#5 - Check Battery
If your battery is five years old, you may want to consider changing it. Stop in for a free battery test. It takes a good batttery for these cold winter starts.
